Quarantine Day 18

Day 18.

Week 3. Day 4.

Easter Sunday.

Totally random facts today. I weirdly love Jurassic Park. (well, this one isn’t totally random, see #4). But seriously…. All of them. It’s like the one set of movies I can watch over and over again. And Jurassic World. Jurassic World too. Because dinosaurs and well... Chris Pratt. Mr. Pratt and dinosaurs is a pretty perfect combination. Also, I’ve never seen Star Wars. Any of them. I don’t know why but this seemed like the appropriate time to confess that. And please note, I’ve reached the point in life where unless you are a good looking, single, in my age range dateable male you will not convince me to do so. I promise. Others have tried and failed. #jurassicpark #starwars #confessions

Happy Easter, friends! And what a different Easter Sunday it was.

The first Easter Sunday in my life that did not involve going to an actual church building. Probably also the first Easter Sunday that did not involve a new Easter dress. But as you are quickly learning, and as I, apparently, am quite slow to learn, or maybe just haven’t learned, I have no shortage of dresses.

But a church building and a new dress isn’t what Easter is all about. And so, even on this different Easter Sunday, how incredible it is to still be able to gather with the church via Facebook and celebrate that even in a world that seems pretty bleak and ever changing at the moment, hope can come from something eternal and unchanging. I’m thankful we could celebrate that today.

Give praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In his great mercy he has given us a new birth and a living hope. This hope is living because Jesus Christ rose from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3 #livinghope #churchisnotabuilding #JesusSaves #Easter2020 #quarantinedEaster

Next year though, I have full intentions of going back to that new Easter dress thing. #justsayin

2. Growing up, my mom used to make all of our Halloween costumes… more often than not there was a theme. Sidenote: Let’s pause and note that one year was a wedding theme. My sister was a bride. I was a bridesmaid. So basically that whole ‘always a bridesmaid, never a bride’ thing…. Yeah, it’s my mom’s fault. #blamemom #alwaysabridesmaid

Anyway, moving on.

After reminiscing about Halloween costumes this afternoon, we remembered that there was a year with a bugs bunny and friends theme. And all those costumes were definitely still in the attic somewhere. It quickly spiraled from there. And ended in my sister and I escorting the “Easter Bunny” on a walk around the subdivision. From the car. We were in the car. We both remained in the car…. with our hats and sunglasses on. I can now add Easter Bunny security to my resume. I expect a recruitment phone call from the Secret Service any day now. #undercover #nooneknowsmehere #security

3. In November of 2009, my sister moved and while packing up her stuff, I may or may not have hidden hundreds of post its with things written on them in everything imaginable. And as we were going through a box of things this weekend, look what we found.

4. I channeled my inner child today and decorated Easter Eggs. These two kits sum me up pretty nicely. A pink glitter kit and a Jurassic Park kit. They are dinosaur eggs. See what I did there?!? #shesgotjokes #badjokes #eastereggs #allthingspink #dinosaureggs

5. And speaking of no shortage of dresses…. #dressesfordays
