Welcome to the Gun Show

I mean some of you are greeted by a husband when you arrive home, some of you are greeted by kids and the craziness that that entails, soooo... don’t be jealous, but I’ve definitely got this going for me.

These days, my favorite news source is Sky News Australia. You guys might be all out there watching CNN or Fox News... I’m just over here listening to the Australian accents and getting a little peak about what the outside world thinks of America these days. It does not disappoint. It might be the most truthful news station I’ve come across lately. But also... did I mention the Australian accents. If I ever end up in a coma, friends, I’m waking up with an accent. Whether I actually have one or not, I fully plan on taking advantage of that opportunity should it arise.

So…. in things that should make you laugh out loud today. Check this out...

This is Sawyer. When Sawyer was 2, I spent a significant amount of time teaching him the phrase… “Welcome to the Gun Show” while getting him to show me his ‘guns’. Just my contribution to society over here, folks. You're welcome. We are now to the point in life where whenever he sees me, this is what he says to me. It’s the best. Today we tried to add a wink/eyebrow smirk into the mix. He’s literally the coolest. Just changing the world one little wink and a gun show at a time.

And this is his little brother... Isn’t he the cutest?

And in the world of passive aggressive life lesson shirts…. Today’s takeaway is this…

Question Everything.

Everything, Friends.

Truth is not relative. There is no such thing as my truth and your truth. We each have our own experiences and opinions and our own perspective… buuuuut there is only one truth.

And... that truth can be very hard to find these days.

And... so we question everything.

And... unfortunately, we live in a world where everything should be questioned.

Buuuut….don’t take my word for it...

See what I did there?!

I have so many hashtags I want to use right now. But I'm pretty sure I'd be putting some censorship conspiracy theories to the test with those. #Illrefrain

When you can’t figure out what is true in this crazy world we live in…. I recommend this…

Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. (Philippians 4:8-9)

Want to know what verse comes right before this?

Don’t be anxious about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)

Seems fitting that not being anxious and focusing on truth go hand in hand. Our God is big enough to handle your questions, your fears, and your doubts, friends You just need to go to him with them!

Oh, don't worry... I'll still be over here questioning everything that this world has to offer in this moment, but ultimately I'm trying hard to hold tight to the truth found in God's Word.
